To help Fernando Alonso in the title race of the 2010 season, Ferrari asked that Felipe Massa proves competitive in the last four races of the championship.
"I want a strong Massa, who steal points from our rivals at the end of the year. He was unlucky in Singapore, but is still able to win races. Those who run for Ferrari not run by themselves, are at representing the colors of the Ferrari," said chairman Luca di Montezemolo told Gazzetta dello Sport.
About the decision to promote Alonso from the controversial German GP, Di Montezemolo added: "Our choice proved correct. He (Alonso) is very competitive and showed skill and determination to fight back and win under pressure."
